We specialise in technical and strategic consultancy in order to provide insurers, reinsurers and superannuation trustees with expert advice and delivery options.
Anthony was a Managing Solicitor of Whyburns Legal and an Associate of Maurice Blackburn Lawyers before beginning work with ANZ Banking Group Limited as Senior Lawyer, prior to establishing Whyburns Strategic in 2013.
Anthony's experience in the life insurance industry is extensive, and includes:

Advising and acting for life insurers, superannuation trustees and reinsurers on complex and disputed claims assessments and in external dispute resolution (SCT and AFCA) and litigated proceedings throughout Australia

Advising and acting for claimants in disability-related matters, including life insurance and superannuation, workers compensation, CTP and common law damages claims

Chairing and/or acting as the delegate of Trustee/Insurer Claims Review Committees

Advising and acting for financial services companies in relation to complaints and litigation matters, and in large scale regulatory breach and remediation projects

Jacqueline (Jackie) has a background in Applied Science and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2015. She has represented claimants in personal injury claims and has been a Claims Assessor for CommInsure.
With Whyburns Strategic, Jackie's role has included:

Scott has been practising as a Solicitor and Barrister in NSW since 1996. He has extensive experience across the life insurance and superannuation industry, including:

Advising and representing claimants, insurers and trustees in excess of a decade in disability-related litigated matters including life insurance, TPD, TPI, income protection, worker's compensation, MVA, common law negligence

Advising and representing corporate and private claimants and defendants in commercial matters including investors in the Storm Financial crisis

Advising and representing Pillar, its trustee clients and previous corporate employers in respect of client complaints and litigation, and to regulators (ASIC, APRA) in respect of regulatory breach and compliance matters generally

Emily worked in Insurance Law in Canada, defending insurers in a wide variety of litigated matters. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2019, and again worked as a defence lawyer for insurers particularly in the areas of professional indemnity, personal injury and life insurance.
